ABOUT

One day when I was looking for a gacha skin in the Marketplace, I noticed that blacks were being sold at half price, while the lighter were sold for twice the price. It made me uncomfortable. I was very upset and I stopped to think about how dark skins aren’t used in Second Life, even for me. I looked at my gallery on Flickr and realized I had no picture with black skin. That motivated me to think of a way to promote the use of dark skins and afro hair in Second Life. As I am a blogger, the easiest method for me was to devise a challenge.

The goal

The goal is very simple. Each participant must take a picture using a black skin. The clothes and hair are personal, according to the style of each. The photo should be shared on social networks of the person, to give visibility to the challenge, especially in the Flickr group that was created for this. We would see many people taking pictures and sharing.

The Prize

The main idea is not to distribute money or gifts for participants, we hope that everyone understands that. However the idea of returning people for the effort and collaboration is very interesting. With that in mind, we decided that the 20 best photos will win exclusive packs of great stores in Second Life. The stores and gifts have not yet been determined, we hope to count on help from the great designers of our virtual world.
